drobinsonDaune Robinson blames her father for the ridiculous spelling of her first name.  It has been a source of confusion for many but also an ice breaker.  It's pronounced "Dawn."  She knew she wanted to be a broadcaster at the tender age of 12.  Daune's 7th grade teacher asked each student to write a report on their chosen career.  Since she didn't know what she wanted to do (veterinarian was nixed after she witnessed a cow dissection on a tour of the University of Illinois' campus), she picked the coolest person she knew for the interview, a guy in her apartment complex who was a local TV sports anchor.  Friday nights in high school were spent at his TV station, calling schools and stadiums for scores.

Now, a proud graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University (Broadcast Journalism) and the Broadcast Meteorology program at Mississippi State University, Daune has been writing, producing, reporting and anchoring the news, sports or weather for decades.

Along the way, she's picked up AP and state and local broadcasters awards in Illinois, Metro Washington, DC and Ohio.  She's most proud of the Emmy for Sports Reporting from her time in DC.  Daune is married, with two kids and a few animals and a full DVR of shows that need to be watched.
